U11 Boys: State Cup Champions

U-11 Boys Win State Title:The PA Classics Panthers Revolution, coached by Mike Watt, took the EPYSA State Cup title in May with a convincing 2-0 win over Lower Merion. During the preliminary rounds the team won games against West Chester 2-0, BSA Rage 8-1, VE 8-0, and PSC Coppa 9-0.  The team advanced through the quarterfinals round with a 3-0 victory over TE, then breezed into the finals with a 3-0 win over Southampton in the semi-finals.  The 2-0 win over Lower Merion was revenge for a loss in the U10 state title game the year before.

The team’s outdoor state title run was a great wrap up to a year of success for this team that included being champions of the YMS Columbus Day Cup and winning the EPYSA Indoor State Championship in January.

U14 Girls Elite ’95:Coached by Matt Tanzini, the U14 girls made a deep run in the National Championship Series State Cup, reaching the semi-finals before being ousted by eventual champions FC Bucks.  As a top 4 team in the state the girls received a bye in round 1 of the tournament, beat PA Rush 3-1 in round 2, then eliminated FC Delco 1-0 in the quarterfinals to set up the showdown with FC Bucks in the Semi-finals.  Unfortunately it was not their day as the team lost 5-2.  Congratulations to the team for a great season and state cup run.

U15 Boys Elite ’94:Coached by Mike Corney, the U15 boys team made a similar run to the 14 Girls, ultimately ending in defeat in the semi-finals.  The boys beat Warrington 3-1, then topped NPAA 5-0 before falling 3-1 in the semi’s.
