The PA Classics Crossbar Challenge is an activity that we held a few years ago and we are now going to make this an annual event for the club. The purpose of the Crossbar Challenge is to raise money for local food banks and charities. We feel that this is a fun team event for the kids and it also teaches them the value of giving back to the community.

It will be held the week of May 18th. Your coach will choose which of your practice days to hold the contest. Each player will have 10 shots to hit the crossbar. Each team can have variety of how they do it. Younger teams may have kids hit a rolling ball or use smaller goals and this will be up to the coaches of those teams. The player with the most crossbar hits wins. If there is a tie, then the players tied must continue until there is a winner. 1 winner per team.

All players can participate and the suggested participation fee is $10. Any player that raises $30 or more will receive a PA Classics water bottle. Any family of 2 or more kids that turns in $50 or more will receive water bottles for each PA Classics travel player in the family. Each team winner of the Crossbar Challenge will receive a $50 Gift Card for Capelli. This Gift Card is only good for use on CapelliSport.com – it can’t be used for Classics Wear or for uniforms.

Your coach will organize the collection of funds for the team and communicate to your team as to what the exact day of the event will be for your team. All funds need to be turned into your coach before May 11th. Donations can only be made as cash or check made out to PA Classics. Below is a link to a collection sheet for your optional use. 

We will be donating 50% of the donations to Manheim Central Food Pantry and 50% to Water Street Mission. PA Classics is donating the water bottles to the players and Capelli is donating the Gift Cards.
